Jonathan Gerrard, CFP®, EA

Jonathan joined Homrich Berg in 2022 following several years at an Atlanta-based fee-only financial planning firm where he provided comprehensive wealth management services to individuals and families. He currently serves as a senior financial planner in the HB Family Office group.

Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University, bringing 10 years of experience in commercial real estate research and asset management. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an Enrolled Agent.

A native of Atlanta, Jonathan and his wife Trudy reside in Decatur with their three children, Kaitlyn, Lily, and Henry. He is a member of Peachtree Christian Church and is also active at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with his family. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys traveling, grilling, and all things music – including drumming, live music, and expanding his vinyl record collection.

Charles Bullock

Prior to starting at HB, Charles spent four years working with Wells Fargo Bank as a Licensed Business Banker/Senior Banker and two years with Wells Fargo Private Bank as a Private Banking Client Associate, assisting high net worth clients with their banking. Prior to that, he attended the College of Staten Island New York.

Some of his hobbies include reading/watching science fiction, bowling, trying new foods, and gaming.

Kevin S. Campbell, CFA

Kevin Campbell is a Principal in the HB Family Office division. In his role, Kevin is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive wealth management and investment advice to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families. This holistic approach includes a robust financial plan, in-depth knowledge of existing estate planning, and a customized investment strategy tailored to each client’s specific goals, preferences, and constraints. With over 15 years of exclusively serving UHNW client families and their related family offices, Kevin is known to embrace the complexity of clients’ needs, distill the details when providing advice, and gain clients’ trust through the repeated delivery of comprehensive, high-value investment advice.

Prior to joining Homrich Berg as a co-founder of the Florida office in November of 2021, Kevin spent over 15 years at Truist Wealth | GenSpring (formerly known as GenSpring Family Offices) in multiple roles. Kevin’s most recent role with Truist Wealth was as a GenSpring Investment Manager (Senior Vice President), serving over 25 client families with more than $1B in assets under management and significantly more under advisory capacity.

During Kevin’s time at Truist Wealth, he was able to make a significant impact on the wealth management practice, including as a voting member of the portfolio construction committee, developing investment-related communications, helping to define the firm’s investment philosophy, and serving as a subject matter expert on investment-related special initiatives. Passionate about his craft, Kevin is most proud of the long-standing client relationships established over the tenure of his investment advisory career and his ability to be a cross-functional advisor, with knowledge spanning investments, tax, wealth transfer planning, trusts & estates, and operational excellence. Kevin was repeatedly recognized for his performance with numerous firm accolades rewarding top performers, but more importantly, by his clients, which was best exemplified by his exceptionally high client retention rate.

Kevin graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and Marketing. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of South Florida. Additionally in 2014, Kevin was shortlisted for the Family Wealth Report Magazine Rising Star Award, which highlights professionals who show the potential to be a leader in the wealth management industry.

When not working, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys in his Palm Beach Gardens, Florida home. His hobbies include golfing, traveling, and woodworking.

Courtney Christy

Courtney joined Homrich Berg in September 2019 and is currently a Manager within Client Service Operations. Prior to joining Homrich Berg, Courtney worked at Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty as a Finance Associate and Closing Supervisor for over three years. She graduated with a B.A. in Human Resource Management from AIU in 2013. She works with the client service teams to assist with money movement, account paperwork, and meeting preparations.

Courtney lives in Hoschton with her husband (Blake), their son, and two dogs. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being outdoors.

Laura Carr

Laura joined HB Wealth in January 2025 as a Principal after working with WMS Partners. As the Chief People Officer, she leads the firm’s talent and culture strategy, with a focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while fostering a high-performing and inclusive workplace. Laura is a member of the Management Committee and partners closely with leadership to align people initiatives with business objectives, strengthen employee engagement, and build organizational capabilities for long-term success.

Laura brings extensive leadership experience across operations, talent development, and organizational strategy, building high-performing teams and driving business growth. She has held senior executive roles at leading financial institutions, including WMS Partners and PNC, where she led firmwide operations, talent initiatives, risk management, and strategic transformation efforts. Her background combines deep expertise in operational excellence, regulatory compliance, culture-building, and leadership development, all anchored by a passion for creating thriving, people-centered organizations.

Outside of work, Laura volunteers with her church, supporting community outreach and engagement initiatives.

Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) and went on to receive her MBA with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with friends and family — including her husband, son, daughter, and son-in-law — as well as cooking, reading, and traveling.

Mary Kendall Durrance

Mary Kendall joined Homrich Berg in January 2018 and is currently an Operations Manager. She works in alternative investment management with a focus on family office clients. Prior to HB, she worked at an investment advisory firm for two years as an Investment Marketing Associate. She graduated from Florida State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Finance and Marketing.

In her free time, Mary Kendall volunteers with the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House and enjoys time with friends and family, traveling and watching Florida State football.

Kerry Gordon

Kerry Gordon joined Homrich Berg in December 2019. With an exceptional combination of organizational and people skills, she works closely with other members of the Homrich Berg management team to direct, manage and oversee firm level projects that impact firm success, team performance and client experience.

Kerry has over 15 years in the financial services industry. Prior to HB she worked with Cedar Rowe Partners as the firm’s operations manager, was a Regional Marketing Director at Northern Trust Bank, as well as a Client Associate at American Express.

Kerry is a graduate of Florida State University. She is an avid sports fan, especially football, formula one and tennis.

Keith Johnson, CFP®

Keith joined Homrich Berg in September 2024 as a Principal in the HB Family Office division. He has over 20 years of experience delivering comprehensive wealth management solutions to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families. In his role, Keith tailors the services based on the complexity of each client’s specific needs to reach their unique goals.

Before joining HB, Keith was a Managing Director with Truist Wealth, focusing on estate planning, investment, and risk management, as well as credit and banking solutions. As a Wealth Advisor within Truist, he worked as the lead relationship manager to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families providing thoughtful comprehensive advice. Keith specializes in pre-sale transaction planning, helping to guide clients through business transitions.

An active member of the community, Keith serves as the current Board Chair for Children First, Inc. in Sarasota. He also serves on the boards of The Gulf Coast Community Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Manatee County.

Keith graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and earned his M.B.A. from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

He enjoys traveling, boating, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Joel Houck, CFP®, CFA, CAIA

Joel joined HB Wealth in January 2025 as a Principal after working with WMS Partners since June 2021. He is currently Managing Director, Investment Solutions and serves family office clients as a senior investment strategist. He and his team work closely with investment and advisory leadership to ensure HB’s investments are of the highest quality and delivered in an efficient manner. He provides oversight into the firm’s trading and portfolio management functions. He also oversees the firm’s investment policy statement (IPS) program.

While at WMS Partners, Joel was Chief Operating Officer of Investments and a Senior Financial Advisor. Prior to this, he managed a volatility hedge fund for Cicero Capital Partners from 2018 to 2020. Before Cicero Capital, he was managing director at Wells Fargo from 2010 to 2017, where he led the Specialty Finance equity research team. Before Wells Fargo, he worked at American Capital, Ltd. from 2008 to 2009 as managing director and incubated the firm’s first investment strategy around public investments. Before American Capital, he was at Wachovia Securities from 2002 to 2007 as managing director and head of Specialty Finance equity research. Prior to Wachovia, he was at A.G. Edwards & Sons from 1997 to 2002 as both an associate and senior analyst covering specialty finance stocks. Before A.G. Edwards, he was in commercial banking from 1991 to 1997 with PNC and Bank of America.

Joel has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, and has appeared on Bloomberg and CNBC. Joel has been recognized six times by the Wall Street Journal as a top five equity research analyst for stock selection.

Joel participates in volunteer events throughout the Mid-Atlantic and provides pro bono education around investments and financial planning to underserved individuals and families.

Joel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Statistics from Miami University, Oxford, OH, and went on to receive his Master’s of Business Administration from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional, and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He is a member of the CFA Society – Baltimore.

In his spare time, Joel enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his wife and four adult children. He also enjoys playing golf and traveling.

Max Hurd

Max joined Homrich Berg as an Investment Analyst in October 2023. His focus within the
investment department is on fixed income. Before HB, Max worked as a financial analyst at
Siemens, supporting various business units in the U.S.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Georgia. Max
is currently a CFA Level 3 candidate.

Max currently lives in Brookhaven and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and
friends.

 

Ryan Hawks

Ryan joined Homrich Berg in June 2023 as the Business Intelligence Manager. The Business Intelligence team is responsible for overseeing data infrastructure solutions, automated data visualizations, internal data enablement, and data process improvements across the firm.

Prior to joining HB, Ryan worked for seven years at Delta Air Lines supporting and leading a variety of analytics and business development projects, with the goal of achieving alignment across operational processes, customer experiences, and commercial goals.

He received his MBA from Emory University, and his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Ryan and his wife live in Smyrna, GA, with their dog and two cats. They lead a small group at their church and keep busy spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys traveling, running, home DIY projects, disc golf, and pickleball in his spare time.

Sara Joyner

Sara joined Homrich Berg in October 2021 and is currently a Manager within Client Service Operations for our Palm Beach and Tampa offices. In this role, Sara and her teams are responsible for supporting the initiatives of investment and planning advisors, which include but are not limited to office management and day-to-day client account administration; client service, cash movements, bill pay, client onboarding, custodial paperwork, alternative investment paperwork, and consolidated reporting.  Additionally, she and her teams manage tax reporting for CPAs and coordinate the delivery of tax documents to clients and third-party advisors.

Prior to joining Homrich Berg, Sara was a Client Service Consultant in the GenSpring division (formerly GenSpring Family Offices) of Truist Bank for nine years and spent one year at Merrill Lynch as a Client Associate.

Sara graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a Cannon Financial Institute Trust School graduate.  She also completed the American Bankers Association Wealth and Foundational Trust School courses in 2021.  When not working, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and children exploring the Florida waters by boat and snorkeling.
