We are pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Owen, Kevin Campbell, Emily Bentley, and Jamie Hennessy as the newest Principals for the firm. “Amy, Kevin, Emily, and Jamie are important members of our HB team” said Andy Berg, co-founder and CEO of HB. “My partners and I are proud to welcome them as the newest owners of HB.”
About Amy
Amy is a Principal in the HB Family Office division. She is an advisor to ultra-high net worth families and family offices and is responsible for a wide variety of their wealth management needs. Amy customizes her advice based on lifestyle needs and legacy objectives, focusing on both the family as a whole and its individual members. She focuses on estate and gift planning, tax planning, financial planning, philanthropy, risk management and family governance.
Amy’s interest in planning began at law school, and she earned the outstanding tax student designation at the University of Virginia in 1997. She then received her LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida, and settled in Naples, Florida to begin her career as an estate planning attorney. As an attorney, Amy advised clients on estates and trusts, tax planning, business success planning, asset protection, entity selection and planned giving. She became a partner in the trusts and estates department of Fowler White Boggs Banker in 2004, and was chosen as one of Gulfshore Business’ 40 Under 40 that same year.
Amy became a Senior Wealth Strategist for the Private Bank of Bank of America in 2006, and continued that role with Hawthorn PNC Family Wealth and GenSpring SunTrust Private Wealth until joining Homrich Berg in 2021. As a Wealth Strategist, she appreciated the mandate to expand beyond traditional legal advice as well as the time she could take to help her clients truly understand their planning opportunities. She found that clients who worked with her to develop this understanding were better able to communicate their objectives to their advisory team and then implement a truly optimal plan.
About Kevin
Kevin Campbell is a Principal in the HB Family Office division. In his role, Kevin is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive wealth management and investment advice to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families. This holistic approach includes a robust financial plan, in-depth knowledge of existing estate planning, and a customized investment strategy tailored to each client’s specific goals, preferences, and constraints. With over 15 years of exclusively serving UHNW client families and their related family offices, Kevin is known to embrace the complexity of clients’ needs, distill the details when providing advice, and gain clients’ trust through the repeated delivery of comprehensive, high-value investment advice.
Prior to joining Homrich Berg as a co-founder of the Florida office in November of 2021, Kevin spent over 15 years at Truist Wealth | GenSpring (formerly known as GenSpring Family Offices) in multiple roles. Kevin’s most recent role with Truist Wealth was as a GenSpring Investment Manager (Senior Vice President), serving over 25 client families with more than $1B in assets under management and significantly more under advisory capacity.
During Kevin’s time at Truist Wealth, he was able to make a significant impact on the wealth management practice, including as a voting member of the portfolio construction committee, developing investment-related communications, helping to define the firm’s investment philosophy, and serving as a subject matter expert on investment-related special initiatives. Passionate about his craft, Kevin is most proud of the long-standing client relationships established over the tenure of his investment advisory career and his ability to be a cross-functional advisor, with knowledge spanning investments, tax, wealth transfer planning, trusts & estates, and operational excellence. Kevin was repeatedly recognized for his performance with numerous firm accolades rewarding top performers, but more importantly, by his clients, which was best exemplified by his exceptionally high client retention rate.
