Sean Cook has served as an advisor and executive in wealth management for over 23 years. He previously served as the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Cedar Rowe Partners (CRP) which later merged with Homrich Berg. CRP grew five-fold under his leadership and was ranked as one of the top 300 independent wealth advisory firms in the US by the Financial Times in 2018. Under his leadership, the firm developed and managed a proprietary hedge fund-of-funds, wealth simulation tools and customized reporting solutions for clients. CRP also provided outsourced reporting and investment consulting service to peer advisors. Sean served for four years on Schwab Institutional’ s Technology Operations and Service Advisor Board.
Sean has a highly varied professional services background. Prior to his career in wealth management, he held management consulting roles with Deloitte Consulting and Index Consulting (later CSC Index), focusing in areas such as financial management, organizational design and business process innovation. At Deloitte, Sean was selected to the Manager’s Advisory Council which provided internal consulting advice to Deloitte’s chairman. He also served as a strategy consultant for Cresap Consulting (now Towers Watson) and held programming and technology integration roles with Hewlett Packard and SMS Data Products, where he supported the Research and Statistics Department of the United States Federal Reserve.
Sean earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina where he graduated magna cum laude with a dual major in finance and management science. At Tuck, Sean was selected as one of six Tuck Tycoon’s and was elected as Tuck’s representative to the Dartmouth student government. While at the University of South Carolina he was elected to membership in The Phi Beta Kappa Society, served on the Student Judicial Council and was honored as the school’s “Most Outstanding Business Student”. Sean was an NCAA Division 1 scholarship athlete (soccer) and tutored fellow athletes in business courses.
Sean grew up in suburban Washington, DC and now resides in Johns Creek with his wife, Julia. Their three children are now in college or have graduated. He and Julia have been active members of Perimeter Church for 25 years. Sean has previously served on the boards of Good Samaritan Health Clinic and Perimeter School of Ballet. He enjoys endurance sports and has completed the Boston, Virgina Beach (Shamrock), and Washington DC (Marine Corps) marathons. He played rugby at Dartmouth.
